TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a
qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Decatur, Illinois, 62526 About The
Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Labor and
Delivery Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:00 -
06:30) Guaranteed Hours: Client may call off up to 36 hours per
thirteen-week assignment without compensation for the canceled
hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of required experience License:
Active IL license or in application process with ETA to apply
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring Certification
required Must-Have: Experience in Antepartum, Labor and Delivery,
High Risk Antepartum, Level I Nursery, LDRP, and Mother/Baby
settings Job Description: - Open to later start date for the
position/specialty - Work in an 18-bed unit on a night shift
schedule - First-timers accepted, with no weekend requirements - No
on-call requirements - Potential to float within scope to meet
facility needs, including floating to pediatric units as needed -
Open to accommodating block schedule; discuss schedule requests
with the manager - RTO restrictions ideally no more than 5 days -
Assist with sterile speculum exams and other antepartum care and
procedures - Perform NST, OCT, reflex checks, edema assessment,
clonus, sterile vaginal exams, and triage of obstetrical patients -
Use external and internal fetal heart monitoring, and recognize and
treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns - Administer blood and
blood products, start and maintain peripheral IV, and use infusion
pumps/drips - Manage medications such as antihypertensives,
magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin, and prostaglandins - Assist
with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulate for C-sections,
manage hemorrhage/shock, and recover C-sections - Evaluate APGAR
scores, identify/security banding, and perform neonatal care in
delivery room - Provide newborn care, including metabolic screening
and treatment for neonatal abstinence syndrome - Perform postpartum
care and procedures, including episiotomy/incisional care, catheter
insertion, and wound care - Ensure care for postpartum patients
with vaginal delivery, Cesarean section, couplet care, multiple
births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension -
Utilize isolation precautions/PPE and administer vaccines -
Community hospital experience preferred, along with Cerner
experience - Flu Vaccine: Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions
